Independent Visitor

Are you 18 or over? Become an Independent Visitor and support a child in care

About

We’re recruiting volunteers to support children aged 10–18 in care through long-term, one-to-one relationships.

As an Independent Visitor, you’ll be a consistent, trusted adult—someone they can talk to, have fun with, and build confidence through shared activities.

What you’ll do:

Visit your matched young person at least every six weeks

Take part in leisure activities, try new things, and build a lasting connection

Help boost their confidence, self-esteem, and aspirations

What you’ll get:

  • A paid enhanced DBS check
  • Full training and ongoing support from the Independent Visiting Coordinator
  • Opportunities to gain youth work experience and develop new skills
  • The chance to make a real difference in a young person’s life

“I love, spending time with my Independent Visitor. We have fun and I can talk to her about anything.”
